"We have enjoyed your web site and have gotten more information off of it than any others. (Plus I got a Kick off the pictures) .Very informative and you have explained it in the basic way for even my Redneck hubby can understand".

"Well, I feel, as many other "Jail-House Lawyers" like you did a fairly good job on my brief."

I appreciate the GOOD advice. I plan to call my probate attorney to followup.

I had my license suspended in N.C. for 1 year back in 1995 (DWI first offense). I moved to Texas, tried to get a license in 1998, but was told they couldn't give them to me. I have talked to people, (DMV, court house, etc.) in NC, they don't know what to tell me to do. What can I do to get this straightened out? Please help.

You don't really give me enough information to give a good answer, so I'll try a wild guess.  In North Carolina a DWI conviction results in revocation of a driver's license for one year.  At the end of the year the license is eligible for reinstatement, but it is not automatically reinstated.  A driver must contact the N.C. DMV to get the license restored.
Your plan of action should be to contact the Texas DMV to determine why they are refusing to issue a license.  If you are told that North Carolina has suspended your right to drive, contact the N.C. DMV to find out why your right to drive in N.C. is still suspended. The N.C. DMV may tell you that you need to do something (pay a fee, attend ADETS class or have a DWI assessment) to get your right to drive restored.  If you do that and get your right restored here, then Texas should be willing to issue a driver's license.
